Fort Jim Fire Safe Council

Welcome to Fort Jim Fire Safe Council. You will find many links here for resources.  Together we can make our community safer.

The Fort Jim Fire Safe Council is officially Firewise USA® Certified!

What does this mean for you?
This national recognition proves our community is taking documented steps to reduce wildfire risk. For homeowners, this certification is a powerful tool—many insurance companies in California now offer discounts on premiums for residents living in Firewise USA® sites. It makes our neighborhood safer and our homes more insurable.

We need your help to keep it!
To maintain this status, we must renew our certification every year. This depends entirely on YOU. We need every homeowner to track and submit their "volunteer in-kind hours." Whether you spent a weekend clearing brush, raking pine needles, or limbing trees, those hours are the currency that keeps us certified.

How to get your certificate:
If you need a copy of our official Firewise USA® certificate for your insurance provider, you can:

  1. Email your request to FortJimFSC@gmail.com and we will send you a digital copy.
  2. Pick up a printed copy at our upcoming community meeting!

Submit Your Volunteer Hours: View the worksheet and examples of eligible activities at the links below. You can also request a blank form by emailing ForJimFSC@gmail.com
